Walton is holding a measuring tape for the concrete guy (Ron, not Mike). We didn't need as much concrete as they originally estimated for the driveway, so we were able to do a turn around area for Walton's truck and work trailer behind the retaining wall.
And here they are pouring the concrete today. It is a beautiful day - in the mid-60's and sunny. Quite a change from last week.
You can see that there will be a curb at the back edge of the driveway to keep anyone from backing over the edge of the retaining wall. (I can't imagine who would do something like that.....) ;-)
I took this picture standing inside the garage looking outside.
We all put our handprints and names in the back in the turnaround area.
The concrete guys set up their own mini-kitchen on the transformer box. They had a microwave, a cooler or two, and all the fixin's for a burrito bar. The painter crew had a similar setup inside the house.
Anthony was cutting in around the hinges and door knobs while his crew used the sprayers to prime the walls and trim.
They have all of the cabinets masked and taped off.
As well as the hinges and doorknobs. They seem meticulous and very neat.
Big steps today! Seeing the driveway and paint going in makes it look just that much closer to being done. We are also excited that my mom and dad are arriving this afternoon. They'll spend a week here. Dad is going to help Walton with the screened porch and deck and a bunch of other little detail things. Mom and I hope to do a little shopping!
