2 months old

Anslie is two months old today.  At two months, she:

  •   smiles easily when we talk to her and is beginning to coo at us a little bit.
  •   is a happy, easy baby and rarely fusses.
  •   holds her head up and likes to look around at everything that's happening.
  •   prefers to be upright so she can see her world.
  •  drinks 5 oz. of formula every 4 hours during the day.
  •   sleeps well at night, usually only waking up around 3 a.m. for a bottle.
  •   has been to church a couple of times, to Kyle's band concert at the Performing Arts Center, and out to eat.
  • has not yet determined which SEC football team she prefers, despite much influence from her friends and family.  Her game day wardrobe now includes Florida, Georgia, and Auburn gear.
  •  has her 2 month check up next week, so we're not sure exactly how much she's grown this month.

sweet little smiles

Anslie was just lounging around "talking" to her Daddy tonight and I caught these smiles.  She is 8 weeks old now. Adorable!

fair weather fan

Anslie put her Auburn bib on at the end of the first quarter of the Auburn/Georgia game tonight.  She is enjoying the game with our friend Jay (who is a doctoral candidate at Auburn).  Kyle is NOT HAPPY about this development.

making faces

Baby girl has been keeping us entertained with all of her cute facial expressions.

She looks like she's thinking "whatchu lookin' at?" here.

Kyle picked out this pink UGA shirt when he went to Babies R Us with me on Tuesday.  Anslie wore it during the game on Saturday (while Kyle was at his first Bulldogs game in Athens!)

Clearly, not everyone in the family is a fan of the Bulldog shirt.   I am sure our extended family will have something to say about Anslie's wardrobe selection on this particular day!

This week I had to put away a few newborn outfits that Anslie has outgrown.  She also moved from newborn to size 1 diapers during her 6th week - something it took the boys only about 2 weeks to do when they were babies.  She is beginning to "talk" to herself a little bit and follow our movements when she is sitting in her swing or bouncy seat.

big weekend!

Anslie had a busy weekend. Grandma and Grandpa Weeks were here for a visit from Illinois. Actually, they were here all week last week. They gave her plenty of hugs and kisses and were surprised by how tiny she is.

(This picture doesn't really reflect how much Dad interacted with Anslie!...I think he might have been watching the World Series at the time I took this. He was quite charmed by her, I think.)

Friday night, we all went to the Georgia Dome to watch Kyle march with the Ola HS band in the Bands of America competition.

Anslie slept the whole time. Her car seat gives her chipmunk cheeks.

Her cousin Anita from Florida was in town for the weekend and she came over for pumpkin pancakes on Saturday morning. Walton used to spoil "Nita K" when she was tiny. She has always been his girl!

Finally, Anslie wore her "Little Pumpkin" outfit for Halloween - even though we didn't go anywhere, she was still really cute!

I had to go back to the work today so it was Anslie's first day with her sitter/daycare provider/nanny. (not sure what to call her yet!) She had a great day and we are so glad she gets to be at home in her own environment with one-on-one care every day. It made it much easier to leave her this morning knowing she was in such good hands.
