drywall going up quickly

The drywall crew started around 9 this morning, and they were completely done with the upstairs by lunchtime. (wow!) After school today, they were putting up all of the ceiling pieces on the main level, and the dining room was completely done. There were 4 guys there working and they were very obviously very efficient. It was really neat to "feel" the size of the rooms.

The first picture is of the bonus room upstairs. All of the buckets of mud stacked up on the floor will end up smoothing the seams of the sheetrock on the walls. (I'm sure this is the only time I'll be happy about having mud on the walls...)



Here is Walton checking out the seams in the dining room walls.

This man is working on the breakfast room ceiling. He had one guy on the ground cutting the drywall to size and carrying it to him. There is also one other guy on stilts who helped w/ the big pieces.




They are going to continue to work tomorrow and expect to have all of the sheetrock up by the end of the day. A different crew will come in to start the taping/mudding/sanding process on Monday. :-)
