And there was this picture too - the owners live upstairs & we would have the whole lower level to ourselves. Beautiful.
This vacation was just right for the ages of our kids & the things we like to do. We only left the property twice in four days - once to get groceries & once to go out to dinner. The rest of the time there was plenty to do to keep everyone busy. (Pool table, foosball table, badminton, volleyball, bocce ball, croquet, a theater room complete with hot popcorn, sodas, & movie candy, a big grill & nice kitchen, etc.) The property owners could not have been more considerate. They thought of every detail that would make our vacation a good one, but were never in our way or bothersome. One morning they left fresh vegetables from their garden & eggs from their chickens on our doorstep.
In addition to the hot tub & vanishing edge upper pool, there was a "greased lightning" water slide to a lower level pool -
It was funny to hear the boys shriek as they flew down the slide.
Anslie zonked out after a little while in the pool on our first day. The boys, not so much. They moved on to the kayak.
The guys also enjoyed the big scary swing off of the dock - I think the owner called it a Leap of Faith swing. The water here was 35 feet deep.
On our last day at Lake Travis, the owner rented his ski boat to us. Walton and the boys took turns tubing & water skiing all day. There were very few other boats on the water since most people are at work &/or school on a weekday in mid-September. We also took the boat to dinner on the lake - a big novelty for the boys to pull up to a restaurant & dock the boat for dinner.

| fun memories |
| We enjoyed making s'mores- a family favorite for us - around the firepit on the patio at night. | Good times. |
It's back to work & school for all of us next week - and marching season will be in full swing for Kyle & the Marching Mustangs. October's going to be busy! We're thankful to have had a few days away to enjoy our time off.
