well, I had good intentions..

When we got to our final destination in Jamaica, I thought I had it made as far as blogging to keep everyone up to date and record the memories of our trip. However, the internet connection went down on Tuesday and that put a quick end to those plans. I don't even know where to begin with describing the rest of our week. I'm going to have to break it up and take it a little at a time.

For now, I will say that Leah (who we still called Peta-gay while we were in Jamaica because it's all she's ever known) is absolutely perfect for our family. She is just the right mix of sweet and silly, with a little bit of shyness & priss thrown in. She likes to color, paint, and do any kind of hands-on project we would pull out of our suitcases. She loves the boys and is very comfortable giggling and playing with them. (I wish I had my video camera running at the moment when she hollered "KYLE!" when he wouldn't respond to Will's multiple requests for his attention. She had an impatient scowl for Kyle and pointed her thumb at Will like "dude, would you answer him already!") She falls asleep as soon as her head hits the pillow, and sleeps like a log all night long. And, she definitely has Walton wrapped around her little finger. I have a ton of pictures to add to the blog thanks to my wonderful sister-in-law Joy and her photography skills. Here are a few favorites until I can edit and sort the rest...

More details tomorrow after I get the mountain of dirty laundry we brought home with us under control. For now a hot shower is calling! (we had *cold* showers all week in Jamaica. Brrr.)

So glad you're home and all is well. I just spent an hour reading back through all of the previous posts. Lots of smiles, a few tears, and even some boisterous laughs. My favorite picture is the one where Leah is in Walton's lap - it looks like a Renaissance portrait of a father with his daughter. Bethany and I have great empathy for your journey and all the joys and struggles it entails. Know that we'll be praying for you each day. Happy Easter tomorrow. JH
