7 days

7 days ago I called the CDA (Child Development Agency) in Jamaica to speak to our case worker. She knew me by name immediately, which was encouraging. I explained that all of our USCIS requirements have been satisfied except for the official declaration of orphan status from the Jamaican court, which must be initiated by the CDA. She hemmed and hawed for a few minutes, and then told me that she had written a letter to her district supervisor seeking guidance on how to proceed with this case. She said that it typically takes about 2 weeks to get an answer from a supervisor, and I told her that I would be calling her back in exactly 2 weeks to check on the supervisor's response. I asked if there was anything else we could do to help expidite processing of our case, and she said there is nothing. So now we wait for 7 more days to get an answer. (Maybe - if the supervisor responds as expected.)

Aunt Shari..........
I am very excited for you still as God has NOT closed this door and we may still yet have Leah in our family......although I know she will never be out of our hearts.
Love,
Diane
