call from Jamaica

Our Jamaican friend, who is called "Mother Clark", called Walton this afternoon. All of the paperwork to transfer Leah's guardianship to us has been signed. The next step is for her to take all of the paperwork to Kingston to be stamped (which is, from what I understand, the equivalent of getting it notarized). After that, the attorney will take our case to the judge. We are trying to determine exactly what documentation the USCIS will require from us in order to get the proper visa for Leah to come to the US for adoption.

Walton also spoke with Pastor Binnie, Leah's foster dad, today. As usual, he reports that she is cheerful and getting along well. We're so thankful that she has a Jamaican foster family who love her and take such good care of her for us.
