settled in

I have had a few requests for some updated pictures now that we've been living here for a few weeks...

Here is the foyer - I am still looking for the right console table to fit under the mirror here.







The smooth top cooktop is great. I was used to cooking on a gas range, but I'm glad we have this now. It is very easy to clean.


The breakfast area needs some kind of window treatments to add some color, but I hate to block the view of our trees.






One of my summer goals is to refinish our old kitchen table and chairs to go in the dining room. (only 4 weeks left to get that done.....)


The parents of one of my students gave me this pencil drawing of the boys. It has to be the best teacher appreciation gift I've ever received.




Boys' bedroom upstairs.



Our bedspread doesn't look this silvery & shiny in person. Must be that flash again.....




Guest bedroom.



The bonus room upstairs. (which also needs some window treatments....) The boys have been on a big Lego kick since we moved in. It's nice for them to have space where they can play and have friends hang out.



We planted 3 of my favorite Yoshino cherry trees next to the driveway this evening. It is thundering - I hope we get a nice soaking rain for them like we did yesterday. There's still plenty of additional landscaping to do. Most of it will have to wait until fall when the weather is cooler & we aren't in a drought with watering restrictions.
