Walton has been shopping for a good deal on a small car or truck for Kyle to drive. We wanted him to learn to drive in the car he will primarily drive. My car is big and awkward for a new driver, and Walton needs his truck for work. We found a used Accord that looked promising and after a test drive Walton made a deal on it last Friday. (I did NOT go along for the bargaining - I hate that part of making big purchases!) Walton surprised the boys by picking them up after school in it. It is our car for now while Kyle has his learner's permit, but once he gets his license he will be responsible for making payments to purchase the car from us and for keeping the gas tank full.
He is doing very well with driving. He drove me around town Saturday morning to run some errands. It was exciting for both of us! ;-)

In other exciting family news, I always go to get groceries on Sunday evenings and boys unload them when I get home. Last night, I had about 6 of those reusable cloth bags of groceries and one plastic bag with meat in it. While I was putting away the groceries last night, I did not notice that the plastic bag with meat was missing. (Can you guess where this is going?) When I started to make dinner tonight, I could not find the meat I bought yesterday. My first thought was that the bagger at Publix left it behind at the register - and then I remembered that my car had a funky smell after school today. I had chalked it up to having 2 boys (aha!), but suddenly a light came on in my head. The meat had been sitting in the back of my car all day in the hot sun at school. Mmmmmmmm....rancid ground beef and tilapia! Kyle bravely volunteered to throw it out over the fence for the racoons. (Gag.)
And Walton sprayed inside my car with Febreze and let it sit with all of the doors open to air out.
Not to leave Will out of this post - here is a picture of him rocking Anslie while watching "Amazing Race" on the DVR tonight. We are all rooting for the Cowboy brothers to win it. "Oh my gravy!" Ha!
And finally - here's a little dose of cuteness to wrap up this post:
